Project Cargo
Project cargo is loosely defined as shipments of large plant, machinery and even completes factories. This may involve shipment of a single consignment or several shipments over a period of time. A good example of the latter is that, an entire factory may be required to be dismantled and shipped.
Whatever the case, the logistics and planning requirements are usually complex. Very often one project may involve the procurement from many different suppliers to all be co-ordinated to arrive at a single destination within a given time frame.
Projects, invariably, require different modes of transportation throughout the entire movement. This will usually commence with a complete assessment of the full specialised requirements, from heavy duty cranes through to abnormal road haul, to the port of loading, including restricted travelling times. The same assessment will also be made at the destination port and final destination.
The right ship for the right job will also have to be assessed. It is therefore apparent that many things can go wrong causing huge expenses and delays in plant commissioning and so on. We have gained extensive experience in the many projects we have successfully handled.
Project Management is a handled by our own experts. We commence by meeting and coordinating all stages of the project with the manufacturers, engineers, management and the financial wizards. Letters of credit (where applicable) are carefully examined. Customs requirements are also established and other government requirements examined. Transport Regulations and Road Restrictions are also examined and approval obtained. Shipping schedules and delivery times are all worked out and a comprehensive plan put in place and carefully managed.
